My blog post today is titled after the song by Bob Carlisle "Butterfly Kisses" which I was introduced to through this youtube video. The video was shared on my Facebook newsfeed yesterday and I spent a good 5 minutes bawling my eyes out. I actually had to stop watching it the first time because I could feel the tears pooling within 30 seconds of the clip and I was still at work with colleagues around me. The stunning bride's position hits close to home and the love, support, and thought put into the father-daughter dance from her brother was touching. Thank you to the bride and groom for allowing this beautiful moment to be shared online.
This is the last of my festive outfits for the Lunar New Year (celebrations last fifteen days) but I am sure that this bold color will pop up again soon. The loose boyfriend fit of the blazer paired with grey skinnies made this a more casual outfit and one that I hoped would bring some Lunar New Year spirit to work. I was still a touch overdressed in our super casual, laid-back work environment but as long as people felt good fortune was passed around with the moving red blob (me), my day was made :).
Of course with anything red, my intuition is to reach for something navy to complement (like this outfit or this one with the same bag and shoes) and this outfit was no exception. I can't help it! It's a fool-proof combination! All colors used in this outfit was actually pulled from the butterfly print of the blouse - grey, red, and navy butterflies fluttered off the shirt and transformed into my pants, my blazer, and the clutch.
French Connection blazer (25% off, black one is under $30!) / Moschino blouse (love this alternative and a cute ruffle-front one) /
Hype heels (similar, and gorgeous Fendis for over 60% off DROOLING!!)
I just realized that today is also Fat Tuesday! If you are celebrating today, have a very safe and joyful celebrations! I won't be able to partake in the Mardi Gras festivities but I always love hearing stories that colleagues (who make it to work tomorrow...) have to share =P. Take care all!
