BLOSSOMS / Olive silk and printed pink for Spring tied together by light neutrals

Pastel pink and olive green is a color combination that works for any season and it may very well be one of my favorites.  The juxtaposition between the girly pink and the tougher olive green brings me back to childhood memories of playing with barbies and my boy cousins and friends playing with G.I. Joes.  Then later on there were the Sky Dancers and I will admit to tying two blankets to myself and jumping off the sofa trying to "sky dance".  Now we have the non-gender specific Red Bull drinks which "gives you wingsssss!!!".

Reminiscing aside, I feel that this color combo works for all season because it combines a fall color and a spring color which happen to be complementary of each other.  With some tweaking in the prints/materials as well as accessories, you can push the association of the outfit towards a particular season.  When I wore this combo last winter, which is really Fall since Californians don't exactly experience a real winter, I let the olive color take the show.  For Spring it is all about the floral printed skirt and the light neutrals which pulls the combination together.

Tory Burch cardigan (last worn in this entry, cotton shrunken Simone on sale here) / Vince silk blouse (40% off here) /
J.Crew skirt (old but love this season's version) / Random belt / Necklace from Gifting Grace and DIY bracelet

I've never been one to let the seasons dictate the colors I can/cannot wear (hello brights in winter! and again!) but I am looking forward to lots of pastels and lighter colors with some brights thrown in there.  Do you prefer brights or pastels?  Or are you a classic white person?  I like lighter colors as they tend to bring out my complexion but sometimes the cheerfulness of bright colors outweighs the negatives :)

I hope everyone is having a great week!  I've been curbing my cravings lately with mangonadas since it satisfies my salty, tangy, and spicy cravings at the same time, yummy!  Take care!
