Hello, hello! Is everyone having a good weekend!? I'm extra cheerful because I took Friday and Monday off so that means I have a long weekend ahead of me. I am looking forward to every single minute of it! Shane has a surprise planned for me this weekend and on Monday I'm going to run some errands and enjoy my day off.
This outfit is all about structures - from the structured blazer to the sharp lines of the plunging V-neck top to the clean lines of the purse and finally to the breath-taking shoes that inspired it all. The crisp lines of the outfit and the neutral black and white color palette keeps everything simple so that the shoes can do the talking. And talking they sure do.
I seldom splurge on shoes because I am more of a purse girl (what are you?) and when there is that one pair I just have to have, the criteria it must meet is almsot endless. This pair however changed all of that.
I remember seeing these beautiful Alejandro Ingelmo Origami shoes on Bloomingdales's website last Summer and being completely awe-struck by them. I was fascinated by the structural beauty of these peep-toe booties and with further research I discovered that the Sydney Opera House was the inspiration behind this design (I've added it to my "must-see!" list). The beautiful shells of the shoes combined with the rich burgundy color and sassy d'orsay silhouette left quite an impression on me and I couldn't get these out of my mind! There was no way I could justify the original price so I bookmarked the page and checked back every so often (probably more often than I should've) and once these went on sale, I pounced! One of the best purchases this year =D.
BCBGMaxazria 'Candice' blazer (similar, beautiful two-tone one w/o draping) / Love from YaYa top (old) /
Marc by MJ leather pants (brown ones 40% off here) / Alejandro Ingelmo Origami D'orsay booties (these Balenciagas are insane!) /
All said and done, what has been your favorite purchase this year? Was it something off your dream list or an impulse purchase that provided instant gratification? Please share as I would love to see! Have a wonderful Saturday and Sunday and enjoy your weekend!
