Inspired by cupcakes, candy, and painted eggs, I combined bright colors and a printed circle skirt to create a "sweet" outfit. The mixture of yellow, blues, and purples remind me of a bowl of candy (like those found when you walk into a restaurant or the lollipops that the dentist offers you after an appointment, the irony!) while the silhouette of the outfit reminds me of an upside down cupcake. This was an outfit quite suited for the Easter Holiday that just past. Did you have a good Easter by the way?

Instead of introducing another color into the outfit and trying to avoid being too matchy-matchy, I went with neutral grey flats to tie the outfit together. Flats with any outfits tend to make an outfit casual and since the materials of the skirt and top are more casual, I wanted shoes that give that vibe. The silver metallic leather cap toe and heel pulled the belt and bag together (because of the crisp silver on both pieces). I was always under the assumption that metallic cap-toe shoes, whether heels or flats or boots, were made with an actual metal piece so I was pleasantly surprised to find that these are actually leather with a metallic finish! Makes for a much more comfortable pair of shoes!

Dallin Chase top (old but similar here and here) / Bar III skirt (blazer in same print is under $25! Love the print on this skirt) /
Talbots cap-toe flats (similar on sale for under $75!) / Tory Burch belt from a tunic (but classic version here) /
Talbots necklace (nice alternative, more casual one in similar color scheme) / Rolex watch (Michael Kors version here) /
Chanel metallic reissue 225 flap (this one is nice, love this shade of purple, and this is perfect for the pop of color)
It seems that there has been lots of doggy birthdays during the end of march and so far this month (according to Facebook, Instagram, and twitter), did you celebrate your furbaby's birthday as well? If so, give them a big hug and doggy kiss for me! Have a wonderful Tuesday and take care.
